PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a position/direction measuring system capable of obtaining the indicated position with high precision, even in the case of using the projection device in a diagonal direction. SOLUTION: The position/direction measurement system comprises: the projector (pointer) 2 for projecting the concentric pattern 1; the imaging devices (sensors) 3 to 5 of at least 3 for taking images of the concentric circular pattern 1; and the operational device 6 for calculating 3-D position of the projector device and the optical axis directional angle from the image taken by the imaging devices 3 to 5. The intersections of the 3-D position of the calculated projector and the optical axis 7 of the projector 2 obtained from the optical axis directional angle and the object 8 projected concentration circle pattern are made indicated point 9 of the projector 2.
