PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pad back plate and its manufacturing method capable of enduring large shearing force without thickening a plate thickness, and capable of significantly improving adhesive strength with a friction member. SOLUTION: The pad back plate 10 is provided with a friction member attachment face 10a for attaching the friction member 9 to one plane, and it is used in the pad for the disc brake. A plurality of protrusions 12 protruding toward a friction member 9 side is formed in plural rows on the friction member attachment face 10a throughout a substantially whole area of the attachment face including a rim part neighborhood of an area corresponding to the friction member 9, to press a face in an opposite side of the friction member attachment face 10a by a pressing member, and push it out to a friction member attachment face side.
