PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid the possibility of careless collision of a hook lock with a striker when the hook lock is rotated in the locking direction during automatic locking. SOLUTION: This automatic locking mechanism of the hook lock comprises a trigger member displaced backward when pushed to the door frame body side when a sliding door is closed, a power transmission means operated by the retarding force of the trigger member, and the hook lock linked to the power transmission means and automatically rotated in the locking direction. A hook lock operation obstructing member 21 is disposed between the trigger member and the power transmission means. The hook lock operation obstructing member comprises a first engagement piece 21 pivotally supported on a lock box and engaged with and disengaged from a pressing piece 10 pivotally supported on a movable shaft at the rear end of the trigger member and an obstructing element 25 fitted to one end of the first engagement piece 21 and engaged with and disengaged from the power transmission means. The hook lock operation obstructing member 21 is rotated in the direction that allows the operation of the power transmission means under the condition that the pressing piece is moved backward to a predetermined position.
