PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make foreign matter disconnection hardly occur when a rough drawn wire W is subjected to wire drawing to a prescribed fine wire diameter, so as to finally produce a fine wire. SOLUTION: The method for producing a rough drawn wire comprises: a storing stage where the raw material of a metal or an alloy fed to a crucible inner tube 9 is melted, thus the raw material in a melted state is made into a molten metal H, and the molten metal H is made to pass through a plurality of fine pores 11, 12 at the inner tube bottom 9a, and is stored in a storage chamber 10 partitioned between the outer tube bottom 8a and the inner tube bottom 9a; a casting stage where, while a pipe-shaped mold nozzle 14 elongated to the upper and lower directions is cooled, the molten metal H stored in the storage chamber 10 is made to flow into the mold nozzle, thus the molten metal H in the mold nozzle 14 is cooled and solidified, and the rough drawn wire W is cast from the molten metal H; and a pulling-out stage where the cast rough drawn wire W is pulled out from the mold nozzle 14.
