<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an information holding unit from falling or being damaged. <P>SOLUTION: The replaceable unit disposed to be freely attached to or detached from an image forming apparatus includes: the information holding unit that makes communication with a communication device disposed in an image forming apparatus main body, and reads or writes information; a storage chamber 42 for storing the information holding unit; a housing having an opening 51 through which the information holding unit is inserted in the storage chamber 42; and a lid member 38 for opening or closing the opening 51. In this case, since the housing has the storage chamber 42 for storing the information holding unit, and the lid member 38 is disposed for opening or closing the opening 51 of the storage chamber 42, the information holding unit is prevented from coming into contact with other structures such as a printer main body, and an image forming unit main body. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
