<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To continuously follow a target and to perform traveling, while avoiding obstacles and simultaneously recognizing the obstacle and the target within the same measurement range, in an autonomous mobile device. <P>SOLUTION: This autonomous mobile device has an imaging means 2 imaging the inside of the preset measurement range; a distance information acquisition means 3 acquiring distance information by imaged data; an obstacle recognition means 4 recognizing the obstacle from the distance information; a travel means 5, having a drive part for the traveling; a travel control means 6 recognizing a self-position and an attitude, and controlling the travel means 5, such that the autonomous mobile device avoids the obstacle in a travel course recognized by the obstacle recognition means 4; and a target detection means 7 detecting the mobile target having preset shape and size, on the basis of the distance information. The travel control means 6 controls the travel means 5, such that the autonomous mobile device follows the target and travels, while avoiding the obstacle recognized by the obstacle recognition means 4, with a position of the target detected by the target detection means 7 as a destination. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
