<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low-cost hand-held non-contact tonometer which has portability, can align by hand holding, enables a user to easily recognize measurement results, can guide alignment for self-measurement, and is usable for measurement in a general clinic other than advanced special medical organizations. <P>SOLUTION: A hand-held non contact tonometer includes a piston (30) which travels along a measurement axis (20) and discharges a fluid pulse without interfering with optical alignment functions of the tonometer. In a tonometer usable for a patient in self-measurement at home, an alignment guidance system utilizing a concave mirror (50) and a target source (52) in a plane containing the center of curvature of the concave mirror (50) and vertical to the measurement axis (20) presents an alignment image to the patient for guiding self-alignment. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
