<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air bag device for a front passenger seat capable of restraining upward movement of an occupant restraining surface of an air bag in completing inflation or in restraining an occupant. <P>SOLUTION: This air bag device M for the passenger seat is furnished with the air bag 24 to block a region to the rear of an inner panel 1 from the neighborhood of a peripheral edge of an opening 22 for projection of an inner panel upper surface 1a in completing inflation. The air bag 24 is furnished with an air bag main body 25 and a tether 38, and mounted on and stored in a case 13 below the opening 22. The air bag main body 25 is furnished with two chambers of a front part chamber 33 supported abutting on an opening peripheral edge 2 with the neighborhood above an inner panel rear surface 1b held in between and mounting the side of a lower surface 33a on the case 13 in deployment and inflation and a rear part chamber 34 a rear surface of which is made into an occupant restraining surface 34a to catch the occupant P. The tether 38 is arranged at a boundary position of the front part chamber and the rear part chamber and regulates a mutual separating distance by connecting upper/lower wall parts 27a, 27b vertically facing against each other of the air bag main body. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
