PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small, low-cost and low-loss discharge lamp lighting device small in efficiency variation due to temperature change by reducing the percentage change of a synthesized internal input capacitance element in a resonant circuit. SOLUTION: In order to reduce influence of change, due to temperature, of a capacitance value of the internal input capacitance element included in an input part 2 of a piezoelectric transformer 1, a capacitor C1 having a temperature compensation function is connected to a synthesized resonant circuit part 16 in a circuit configuration of this discharge tube lighting device.
