PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image recording system in which an electronic camera and an image recording apparatus each connectable to a network can properly manage a transmission history of images. SOLUTION: The image recording system includes: the electronic camera 1a including a first transfer means for transferring image data to a server 7 connected to the network 6, a transmission history storage means for storing transmission history information denoting association between the image data and transfer destination information, and a second transfer means for externally transferring the image data and the transmission history information; and the image recording apparatus 4 including a recording means for receiving and storing the transferred image data and the transmission history information, a third transfer means for transferring the image data recorded in the recording means to the server 7, and an update means for adding the transmission history information denoting the association between the image data and the transfer destination information transferred to the server 7 by the third transfer means to the transmission history information stored in the second recording means and storing the resulting data and information.
