<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ETC system for motorcycles for correctly performing toll processing when a plurality of motorcycles are traveling in parallel. <P>SOLUTION: The ETC system for motorcycles includes: a parallel travelling detection unit for detecting the number of vehicles travelling in parallel in the width direction of a road; an ETC antenna for performing radio communication with in-vehicle devices; and a parallel travelling processing unit for controlling the ETC antenna so as to make radio communication with a plurality of in-vehicle devices. The detection unit includes a marking unit disposed on the travelling surface of the road and including a pattern periodically changing in optical characteristics in the width direction of the road; a line sensor unit for capturing a one-dimensional image having an eyesight of a line shape extending in the width direction; and a counting unit for detecting the number of vehicles travelling in parallel by using the one-dimensional image. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
