WIRELESS PACKET COMMUNICATION SYSTEM AND METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manage the number of multihops from each mobile terminal to a GW-AP with fewer pieces of information by using a simple message exchange method in a multihop network wherein priority control is carried out on the basis of the number of hops of the mobile terminals from the GW-AP.

SOLUTION: Upon the receipt of a terminal registration request from an access point 12b, an access point 12a registers an identifier of a mobile terminal 13b and the count of the number of hop counter in the terminal registration request and an identifier of the access point 12b to a registration terminal management list stored in the access point 12a itself, increments the count of the number of hops counter by one and transfers the resulting terminal registration request. A GW-AP 11 registers an identifier of the mobile terminal 13b and the count of the number of hops counter in the terminal registration request and the identifier of the access point 12a to a registration terminal management list stored in the GW-AP 11 itself. The access point 12a and the GW-AP 11 are respectively provided with a plurality of queues corresponding to the number of hops, and earlier transmit traffic addressed to a mobile terminal with many number of hops.
