PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance comprehensibility of a method answer sentence of an extraction object and to enable a user to more easily acquire a desired explanatory answer. SOLUTION: A retrieval word set including at least one retrieval word is extracted from an input method question sentence, and the retrieval word set is taken as a retrieval key to retrieve documents, and all acquired retrieval result documents are stored in a retrieval result storage means, and clause items being individual items constituting itemizations are detected from the retrieval result documents stored in the retrieval result storage means, and explanation scores showing suitableness as answer of method explanations are calculated per clause item on the basis of a prescribed calculation method reflecting features of the method answer sentence, and a clause item having higher explanation score value is output as an answer to the method question sentence.
