PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably perform trimming (extraction of a concerned region), with respect to both of two-dimensional and three-dimensional image data under optimal conditions. SOLUTION: The concerned region extracting method is constituted so as to extract a region, including the image of a target as the concerned region from the image data acquired with respect to the target and includes a process for setting a crossing search probe 12 for searching the boundary of the image I of the target and the background as the crossing position of the image of the target and the background on the image data BD; a process for allowing the crossing searching probe 12 on the image data to search a boundary end 13 as the crossing position; and a process for determining the concerned region, on the basis of the searching result of the crossing position.
