PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tip-over safety device that prevents furniture from being toppled by a strong tremor such as an earthquake without the need of machining such as making a hole for attaching a stopper to the bottom of the furniture. SOLUTION: The tip-over safety device includes a first L-shaped fixing device 10A, a second L-shaped fixing device, a long belt 20, a short belt 25, and a belt tightener 30. A piece of furniture is constituted of an upper face 602, a side face A604, a side face B606, a front face 608, a back face 610, and a bottom face 616. From the front face 608, articles that are housed on shelves A614, B616 or the like can be put in and taken out. The first and second L-shaped fixing devices 10A, 10B are each composed of an L-shaped thin plate, a holder 14 and a double coated adhesive tape 16. The first L-shaped fixing device 10A is provided in the corner formed by the bottom face 616 and the front face 608 on the side face A604 side of the furniture 60, while the second L-fixing device 10B is provided in the corner formed by the bottom face 616 and the back face 610 on the side face B606 side.
