PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a retaining force retaining both disk members in their assembled state by a relatively inexpensive means in a coupling device such as a reclining device. SOLUTION: The reclining device 4 as the coupling device is provided with a disk-shaped ratchet 10 and guide 20, poles 30a and 30b clamped between the disk surfaces 10a and 20a of the both and having outer teeth 31a and 32a in their outer circumferential faces, and a set plate 70 retaining the both with their superposed into an assembling state. The ratchet 10 is formed with a cylindrical inner tooth part 11 having an inner tooth 11b. The guide 20 is formed with a cylindrical surrounding part 21 fitted around the inner tooth part 11 from the outer circumference side. The set plate 70 has an outer board retaining face 71 to be applied to the circumferential edge face 11a in the outer board side of the ratchet 10, and an inner board retaining face 72 to be applied to the circumferential edge face 21a in the inner board side of the guide 20; and the inner board retaining face 72 and the circumferential edge face 21a in the inner board side are integrally welded by laser welding.
