METAL CORD FOR REINFORCING RUBBER ARTICLE AND RUBBER ARTICLE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a metal cord for reinforcing a rubber article, which improves penetration of a rubber material to the inside of a cord while controlling reduction in compressive rigidity of a cord and a rubber article. SOLUTION: The metal cord 7 for reinforcing a rubber article comprises a core filament 9 and five outer sheath filaments 10 helically twisted on the core filament 9 so as to enclose the core filament 9. The filament diameters of the core filament 9 and the outer sheath filaments 10 are substantially the same diameter. Proper spaces are formed between the outer filaments 10. The core filament 9 is formed with two-dimensional corrugated parts 12 having a pitch smaller than the twisting pitch of the outer sheath filaments 10.
