PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a hot dip metal coated steel strip, capable of preventing any edge overcoat so as to be excellent in uniformity of the plating deposit in the width direction. SOLUTION: In the manufacturing method of the hot dip metal coated steel strip for controlling the thickness of a deposited metal by blowing a gas from gas wiping nozzles arranged across the steel strip facing both sides thereof on the surface of the steel strip to be continuously pulled up from a hot dip plating bath, a baffle plate for blocking collision of gases ejected from the gas wiping nozzles is provided on an extension plane of the steel strip in a vicinity of both ends in the width direction of the steel strip, and the thickness of the baffle plate is reduced toward the direction of the plating bath.
