PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an emulsion type adhesive forming an adhesive layer showing less change of adhesion performance even in the case of receiving a thermal history as an adhesive sheet, and excellent in heat resistance over time and the adhesive sheet by using the adhesive. SOLUTION: This emulsion type adhesive containing polymer emulsion and a cross-linking agent is provided with that the polymer emulsion can form a dried coated film having a high tetrahydrofuran extraction rate in the absence of the cross-linking agent, and also the eluted portion shows a specific weight-average molecular weight. Further, the adhesive layer formed from the emulsion type adhesive containing the cross-linking agent shows high tetrahydrofuran extraction rates before and after its heating and passage of time.
