PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a benzothiadiazine derivative having excellent 11β-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase type 1 inhibitory action or its pharmacologically acceptable salt or ester. SOLUTION: The benzothiadiazine derivative is represented by formula (I) [R1is a 6-10C aryl which may be substituted with 1-5 groups independently selected from a group (a) of substituent groups or the like; R2is a 6-10C aryl which may be substituted with 1-5 groups independently selected from a group b of substituent groups or the like; R3is a hydrogen atom or a 1-6C alkyl group; R4is a hydrogen atom or the like] or its pharmacologically acceptable salt or ester.
