PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a secondary hypertrophy promoter for the wooden part of a plant, and to provide a plant production method by which the secondary hypertrophy of a wooden part is promoted. SOLUTION: This secondary hypertrophy promoter for promoting the wooden part in a plant is characterized by containing cytokinin as an active ingredient. The method for producing the plant is characterized by including a process for making an effective amount of cytokinin to act on an organ for promoting the secondary hypertrophy of a wooden part.
