<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus, etc. , capable of recognizing a specified pattern even concerning a copy which is obtained by magnifying/reducing an original with the specified pattern printed thereon. <P>SOLUTION: A large size pattern is larger than a standard pattern. Thus, when a copy-prohibited original is copied by reduction with the use of a copying machine without having a copy management function, the size becomes the same as that of the standard pattern. A small size pattern is smaller than the standard pattern. Thus, when the copy-prohibited original is copied by magnification with the use of the copying machine without having the copy management function, the size becomes the same as that of the standard pattern. The large size pattern is mixed with the small size pattern and previously printed on the original.
