GAS GENERATOR FOR AIRBAG DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas generator for an airbag device for side surface collision capable of accomplishing miniaturization and light weight while maintaining high performance.

SOLUTION: A cup member 31 filled with a transfer charge 30 and a gas generating agent molding body 26 exist in a cylindrical housing 11 having a gas discharge port 12. An interval (A1) of an annular clearance (gas discharge route) of a peripheral surface 33 of the cup member opposed to the gas discharge port 12 and an inner peripheral surface 11c of the cylindrical housing is smaller than a size (A2) of the minimum dimension part of the gas generating agent molding body 26. Therefore, there is no case that the gas discharge port 12 is blocked by intruding the gas generating agent molding body 26 into the annular clearance.
