PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the deformation of a frame body by utilizing surface glass, without particularly deteriorating the external and internal appearances of a building and the see-through property of the surface glass. SOLUTION: In this surface glass fixing structure in which the polygonal surface glass B for covering the inside of the frame body 4 is fixed to the inside of the frame body 4 provided in the building, the frame body is composed of a metallic material; a spacer 9, more flexible than the surface glass and the frame body and capable of transferring an external force throughout the frame body and the surface glass, is mounted between the frame body and an end surface 8 along a plurality of lateral sides 12 and 13 of the surface glass; the end surface of the surface glass is brought away from the frame body throughout the perimeter; the surface glass is fixed to the frame body so that the compressive force can be transferred to the surface glass from the frame body via the spacer; and the spacer is separately mounted on each end surface along one of the lateral sides in such a manner as to serially come into contact with the overall length section of the end surface.
