The circuit has a charge controller (29) that is coupled with a measuring resistor (17), and influences a selector switch (16) based upon a reference charge (QS). An integrator (31) is supplied with a signal from the measuring resistor, where the signal corresponds to actual-current flowing through an electrical load. A comparator (32) is loaded by an output signal of the integrator and the reference charge. The comparator opens the selector switch, when the output signal of the integrator is greater than the reference charge. An independent claim is also included for a method for influencing an electrical load.
