PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an optical scanner in which a trapezoidal distortion of a projected image and/or non-linear distortion (linearity distortion) is excellently corrected. SOLUTION: The optical scanner has a deflecting means which deflects a luminous flux from a light source means two-dimensionally, in a first direction and in a second direction, and scans two-dimensionally a face to be scanned with a deflected luminous flux deflected with the deflecting means of which the deflecting speed is faster in the first direction than in the second direction, wherein the deflection amplitude of the deflecting means in the first direction varies during one time two-dimensional scanning.
