VIDEO DISPLAY DEVICE

摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a see-through type HMD (Head Mount Display) equipped with an electronic camera, which enables a user to clearly observe a larger range of external scene.

SOLUTION: The video display device which is fitted on a head or on a face of the user and through which the user can see the external world comprises: a display means which displays an image and which can be seen through; an image pickup means for picking up the external scene; an image dividing means for dividing the image picked up by the image pickup means into a central part and a peripheral part; an image compressing means for compressing the image of the peripheral part divided by the image dividing means; and a display control means for controlling the position where the image compressed by the image compressing means is displayed on the display means. The display control means displays the image compressed by the image compressing means on the peripheral part of the see-through image which can be visually recognized through the display means.
