<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress deterioration of sealing performance due to cracks unwillingly caused in an widthwise end of expansion graphite tape of knitting thread in a gland packing. <P>SOLUTION: In a plurality of knitting threads in the gland packing, knitting threads 10A are provided in the knitting threads wherein the expansion graphite tape 30 of a predetermined width is bent so as to contract in a width direction, and reinforcement wire 41 is embedded in an interior of the bent expansion graphite tape 30 in a longitudinal direction of the expansion graphite tape 30. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
