<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data communication system in which a ground station promptly detects blocking and whose communication efficiency is successful. <P>SOLUTION: In the data communication system which performs communication between mobile ground stations via a satellite, each ground station has a monitoring signal transmitting/receiving signal for continuously transmitting/receiving monitoring signals between the ground station and a partner ground station from connection to disconnection of the communication and a communication interruption detection means for detecting communication interruption based on the monitoring signals.
