<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ignitor for internal combustion engine in which malfunction of a vehicle-mounted electric apparatus is suppressed by suppressing noise radiated from a discharge current passage into the air. <P>SOLUTION: The ignitor for internal combustion engine comprises: a transformer 2 having a primary winding 20 and a secondary winding 21; a spring 11 for applying a high voltage generated on the high voltage side of the secondary winding 21 when conduction of primary current to the primary winding 20 is interrupted to an ignition plug 10; plug boots 8 for insulating the spring 11 from the outside by surrounding it and holding the ignition plug 10; and a metal sleeve 12 surrounding the plug boots 8 and having one end electrically connected with the low voltage side of the secondary winding 21 directly or indirectly and the other end electrically connected with the ignition plug 10 directly or indirectly. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
