INKJET PRINTER AND RECORDING HEAD CAPPING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inkjet printer which permits the securement of the hermetic sealing property of a cap even if the load of the cap is small as well as capping not imposing burden on a nozzle surface and a head holder, and a recording head capping method. SOLUTION: The inkjet printer has the cap 18 covering the recording head which jets an ink from nozzles and performs recording on unrecorded mediums and is structured so as to make the tip of a ring sealing lip 18a provided in the cap 18 butt against the nozzle surface of the recording head for capping during the suction of the ink from the nozzles and/or nonrecording and is provided with a partition lip 18b partitioning the interior of the rink sealing lip 18a for every nozzle group corresponding to the kind of the ink. Either the ring sealing lip 18a or the partition lip 18b is formed into a tip shape more collapsible than the other. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
