PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide printer for making printing on continuous paper over a plurality of times with a time difference by an inkjet printing unit, and dries each printing at a drying section, wherein an ink discharge surface of a print head is prevented from dew condensation in second and subsequent printings. SOLUTION: A plurality of printing unit rows 10 and 11 consisting of print heads 10a, 10b, 10c and 10d, and 11a and 11b, 11c and 11d, respectively, are arranged in parallel at an interval in a running direction of continuous paper W. Each printing unit row is displaced in the width direction while running directions of a drier section 3 and the continuous paper are inverted, or while the running direction of the continuous paper is inverted. At the same time, the continuous paper is continued via an inverter 16, 16a for inverting the front and back sides of the continuous paper. The continuous paper passes through the drier section in the downstream side thereof, displaced in the width direction for each printing unit row, and a cooling unit 4 having cooling rollers 4a and 4b around which the continuous paper is wound in parallel and axially, is arranged.
