PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vending machine for food in a cup allowing a user to enjoy the food in a cup by appropriately informing the user that cooking has been finished to a point suitable for eating. SOLUTION: A vending machine for food in a cup sells the food in a cup cookable by pouring hot water and supplies hot water to the food in a cup comprises: a hot water supply chamber with an opening and closing door; a hot water supply button for performing and stopping hot water supply; a timing means; and at least either a voice output means or a display means. After the food in a cup is placed in the hot water supply chamber and the opening and closing door is closed, the hot water supply button is operated, the hot water is supplied to the food in the placed cup, and elapsed time is measured by the timing means. When the measured elapsed time reaches a predetermined cooking time, at least either the voice output means or the display means is used to inform the user that the predetermined cooking has been finished.
