PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To develop a visual examination device for cracks, capable of automatically inspecting the crack of a dome-shaped transparent body in order to solve the problem, wherein automation of the inspection of the cracks is very difficult, because there is a case incapable of observing the crack of a target being the dome-shaped transparent body only at a certain angle, when the crack of the transparent body is inspected to obtain the inspection of the cracks affected by the structure present in the transparent body and relied on visual examination with the variations being large and generated in the visual examination and many oversights of the cracks of the transparent body. SOLUTION: After the dome-shaped transparent body is irradiated with a short-wavelength light (ultraviolet ray) from an oblique downward direction to make the cracks provided to the surface of the dome-shaped transparent body pop up, the exposure time of an electronic imaging device is widened, and the presence of the cracks are determined by luminance check, after the dome-shaped transparent body itself is made to rotate and photographed.
