PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce working time for purging, and to surely replace gas in a gas tube by other gas. SOLUTION: The gas purging device 1 is provided with a partition wall part 10 inserted from a first communication hole 3 of an existing gas tube Tu and expanded in the gas tube and capable of moving to a gas flow downstream side while partitioning an inside of the gas tube; and a movement control part 30 capable of winding a cord member 41, having a tip of the cord member 41 inserted from a second communication hole 4 of the existing gas tube Tu on the gas flow downstream side compared to the first communication hole and connected to the partition wall 10, and controlling winding of the cord member 41 so that a gas pressure in a tube passage on the gas flow upstream side compared to the partition wall 10 is prevented from being lower than a predetermined value, and controlling movement of the partition wall part 10 to the gas flow downstream side. The partition wall part 10 moves in a new gas tube Ts to the gas flow downstream side while movement control of the movement control part 30 is applied thereto, and air in the gas tube on the gas flow downstream side compared to the partition wall part 10 is delivered from the second communication hole 4 and is replaced by the gas in the gas tube on the gas flow upstream side compared to the partition wall part 10.
