PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a binding implement which can be surely moved to an opening position from a binding position to bind a document even in a long-term use. SOLUTION: This binding implement comprises: a bottom plate 4a which is fixed to a cover body; first and second side plates 4b and 4c which are continuously provided in such a manner as to be rotatable relatively to the bottom plate 4a; a binding member 5 which is housed by using the bottom plate 4a, and the first and second side plates 4b and 4c; an urging plate 4g which is continuously provided between bottom plate 4a, and at least either of the first and second side plates, via a thin-walled part 4e; an engaging piece 4n which is provided on at least either of the side plates, and which is engaged with the binding member 5 so as to fix and unfix the binding member 5 in the binding position; and a pushing part 6a which is rotated with the second side plate 4c when the second side plate 4c is rotated, and which pushes the binding member 5 in the direction of moving the binding member 5 to the opening position from the binding position.
