The method involves printing a foil web (12) with print marks in a distance of a necessary length of a foil package for packing objects and alternatively with other imprints. The printed foil web is inserted into a foil web storage unit (15), and the objects are inserted in a longitudinal direction between the foil web halves. The inserted objects are detected by a print marks-detection device (18). The foil web is fed from the foil web storage unit about a length corresponding to the distance between the print marks after detecting the objects, and the foil web is transversely welded. An independent claim is also included for a foil packing machine for packing objects into a foil package.
