The device has a motor drive controlling unit connected with a sensor element for detecting the operation of the assigned safety belt. A sensor is available in active position for ascertaining the distance of the acoustic unit (1) from the head (5) of a person if acoustic unit is found in its passive position with released safety belt. The sensor (6) is connected with the controller of the suitable motor drive of the acoustic unit to keep a minimum distance between acoustic unit and the head. An independent claim is also included for the method for positioning an element of acoustic unit.
