<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an actuator for a microswitch which can exert ample displacement generating force and amount for mechanically carrying out connection and disconnection of electrical and optical signals, and which is compact and has high durability and reliability. <P>SOLUTION: This actuator 10 for the microswitch is provided with two leg parts 15a, 15b, and a crotch part 17, pinched by one side of one end part of their two leg parts to support them. In respective two leg parts, one piezoelectric layer 14 of the outmost layers among a plurality of laminated piezoelectric layers 14 constitutes inactive parts, without being pinched by positive and negative electrode layers 18, 19 to constitute an inactive part, and other piezoelectric layers 14 are pinched by the positive and negative electrode layers 18, 19 to constitute active parts. When a drive voltage is applied between the positive and negative electrode layers 18, 19, the piezoelectric layers 14, constituting the active parts, are expanded and contracted by displacement, based on a piezoelectric lateral effect (since piezoelectric layers 14, constituting inactive parts, will not generate displacements), and bending displacement is formed at two leg parts 15a, 15b. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
