<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power converter for detecting a reverse current flowing in a main circuit switching element without using an A/D conversion means, preventing a process in a microcomputer from being delayed, accurately and surely detecting the reverse current, and quickly finding an abnormality in a reverse voltage applying circuit. <P>SOLUTION: The power converter is provided with a threshold controlling means 13d for determining a threshold based on a switching signal generated in a control means 13a, a comparison circuit 17 for comparing a signal from the threshold controlling means 13d with an output as a reverse current flowing in a diode 6 and generating pulse signals, a counting means 13ea for counting pulse signals inputted from the comparison circuit 17, and a determination means 13ec for determining the abnormality in the reverse voltage applying means 7 based on a count result from the counting means 13ea. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
