<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent storage of failure information in non-volatile memory means in checking motion of a control device for a vehicle. <P>SOLUTION: Writing of the failure information in an EEPROM is set into a prohibiting state in the middle of an initializing process after starting a failure diagnosing routine (S101). Thereafter, whether a multiplex communication message from another vehicular control device 1 is received or not is judged (S102). A step S103 is skipped as the multiplex communication message is not received (S102: NO) when the motion of the control device for the vehicle is checked (vehicle unloaded). Thereafter, whether writing of the failure information in the EEPROM 4 is in an allowable state or not is judged (S106) when failure diagnosing control is carried out (S104) and it is judged that failure is detected (S105: YES).
