PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink cartridge which can prevent an inkjet recorder from becoming recordable under a condition that an ink storing body is not stored in a case. SOLUTION: The ink cartridge 9014 can release coupling of first and second case members 210 and 220 by releasing engagement of engaging parts 9200a and 9200b and engaging holes 9201a and 9201b. Therefore, replacement working of the ink storing body 100 can be easily carried out. In addition, detection of an ink residual quantity is carried out by ink residual quantity detecting sensors arranged at both sides of a detecting part 140 of the ink storing body 100. When the ink cartridge 9014 without the ink storing body 100 held therein is attached, it is judged as no ink residual quantity. Therefore, printing is hindered in a multi-function device under the condition that the ink cartridge 9014 without the ink storing body 100 held therein is attached.
