PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology for surely reading tracing information from a copied image. SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus detects whether or not a received document image includes a particular pattern image comprising a particular pattern, applies image processing with prescribed predetermined image processing contents to the document image when the particular pattern image is detected from the received document image, and prints out the document image subjected to the image processing with the prescribed predetermined image processing contents onto a recording material.
