PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide new bifunctional reagents useful in providing extended in vivo lifetimes of physiologically active agents. SOLUTION: The pharmaceutical composition comprises a target binding member containing a reactive functional group reacting with a protein to form a stable covalent bond to be utilized for a method for treating a host by administering to a mammal host, wherein the reactive functional group reacts with amine, thiol or carboxy group on albumin in vivo to form in vivo a covalent bond between the reactive functional group and the albumin and extending the in vivo lifetime of the target binding member.
