PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To appropriately make follow-up control so as to make a vehicle travel while following a preceding vehicle even when a driver of the vehicle conducts inattentive driving in an inter-vehicle distance controller. SOLUTION: An inter-vehicle distance controller for executing follow-up control so as to make a vehicle travel while following a preceding vehicle with target time, determines whether the vehicle driver conducts inattentive driving (step 108), if the determination result shows the state where the vehicle driver is in inattentive driving, extends a target inter-vehicle time T in the follow-up control by a timeΔT in response to an angleθof a face direction in comparison to the case in which the driver is not in the inattentive driving (steps 110, 112).
