PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic tire with the low rolling resistance and superior driveability, positively reduced in the road noise. SOLUTION: The pneumatic tire has a center part belt reinforcing layer 3 for covering only a center portion of a main belt and a shoulder part belt reinforcing layer 4 for covering only an end of the main belt on an outer side in the tire radial direction of the main belt 1. The center part belt reinforcing layer 3 and a shoulder part belt reinforcing layer 4a adjacent thereto overlap at least partly each other. An outer end P<SB>4</SB>in the tire width direction of the shoulder part belt reinforcing layer 4 is located outside in the tire width direction from an outer end P<SB>1</SB>in the tire width direction of the main belt 1. A double-twisted PET cord is used for the center part belt reinforcing layer 3, and a double-twisted PEN cord is used for the shoulder part belt reinforcing layer 4, respectively.
