<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a variable displacement compressor improved in efficiency while maintaining 100% of a capacity even during high speed operation without the need for feeding much gas to swash plate chambers during the variation of the capacity. <P>SOLUTION: The variable displacement compressor 100 of a swash plate type or a rocking swash plate type varies its capacity by pressure in the swash plate chambers 18, 107. The compressor comprises variable throttle mechanisms 90, 126 and 900 provided in communication passages 24, 105 which make each of the swash plate chambers communicate with the low pressure side for increasing the opening area of a variable throttle 91c when a rocking swash plate 6 or a swash plate 108 has a greater angle θ and for reducing the opening area of the variable throttle when the rocking swash plate or the swash plate has a smaller angle. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
