摘要	<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus where a change of a latent image caused by reciprocity law failures is corrected, and an image difference caused by a writing time interval difference between adjacent image data in a sub scanning direction is reduced, and also to provide an image forming method, a program, and a recording medium. <P>SOLUTION: The apparatus includes an optical detecting means for detecting the density of a toner image on a transfer member. A reference toner image is formed on the transfer member, and the diameter of each light beam used for image exposure is adjusted in accordance with the density of the reference toner image, then, the change in a latent image caused by the reciprocity law failures is corrected, and the image difference caused by the writing time interval difference between adjacent image data in a sub scanning direction is reduced (eliminated). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
