PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a criterion setting method in an inspection device of an optical member capable of setting an objective and accurate criterion for realizing the judgement of quality corresponding to an objective and accurate optical product on which an inspection target is mounted. SOLUTION: The criterion setting method is adapted to the inspection device of the optical member for automatically judging the quality of the optical member on the basis of the image obtained by photographing the optical member and includes a luminous flux diameter calculating process for calculating the diameter of the luminous flux, which forms a spot image, of the optical member in the optical product containing the optical member, a flaw diameter calculating process for calculating a flaw diameter permitted as the optical member, which constitutes the optical product, using the brightness related to the image formed through the optical product and the diameter of the luminous flux calculated by the luminous flux calculating process and a criterion setting process for setting the measured value related to the flaw in the inspection device of the optical member corresponding to the diameter of the flaw calculated by the flaw diameter calculating process.
