PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an infrared sensor having an infrared-ray detection performance enhanced more than a conventional sensor. SOLUTION: In a detector 500, a plurality of PN junction diodes 601 connected in series is inserted in a feedback loop of a differential amplifier 603. As a result of this, the detector 500 operates as an ideal diode circuit, i.e. as a diode whose forward voltage Vf becomes 0 V. Accordingly, since its forward resistance becomes close to infinitesimal, noise voltages can be made smaller than the conventional sensor. Moreover, since the inverse resistance becomes close to infinity, power loss by a reverse current can be reduced. Furthermore, since the noninverting input potential of the differential amplifier becomes equal to the output potential of the ideal diode, the output distribution of a detector array provided with a plurality of detectors 500 can be made smaller.
